Well, because it's so dern good for you that's why! There are lots of diet plans and philosophies, but I've never seen any adherents make claims like raw foodists. Ever hear an Atkins dieter talk about unbounded energy and remission of disease? The next question is: how to go raw? When I started out I thought all raw foodists and recipes were the same - if it's raw, you can eat it! But no! It seems every recipe book and website has a different take on what's good and what's not. Some of the more controversial food products are Braggs Liquid Aminos, maple syrup, honey, dehydrated food, oils and nuts (when used as staples). I've changed my own philosophy over time and I've come to align myself mostly with Storm and Jinjee of The Garden Diet.com. It's sound advice from a nice, committed family whose members are not pushing their products in a slick, pompous and money-grubbing way - I love that about them!
